Professor Saiful Islam gave a Eckersley Lecture. Talk title was “Materials for Green Energy – Crystal Gazing on the Atomic Scale”. Event took place on 30th of March at Bedales Theatre in Petersfield. Since its introduction in 1966, Bedales’ annual science lecture has attracted leading scientists including two Nobel Prize winners. See more here: (link)

Professor Saiful Islam was invited by Education In Action to give a talk at Chemistry in Action in London on Nov 14th. He spoke to 800+ school students about green energy materials using 3D glasses! See more here (link).

Prof Saiful Islam gave a Kelvin Lecture at the Royal Philosophical Society of Glasgow. His talk topic was: “Making a materials difference to Green Energy (batteries included).” The Kelvin Lectures were founded in honour of William Thomson, Baron Kelvin of Largs a year after his death in 1908 and have been hosted by the Institution ever since.
